Author and Illustrator E.B.McHenry and PEGASUS BOOKS Downtown invited kids of all ages and poodles of all sizes to the Celebration of the Publication of a new Children’s Picture Book, POODLENA • Parade Pictures published promptly as promised!

Sunday, May 16th was the perfect day for a Poodle Parade-- the sun was out and so were the Bay Area Poodles! Over one hundred people and 30-40 poodles showed up to strut their stuff! From Teacup to Standard, Labradoodle to Cockapoo (and an assortment of other canine supporters) they all came dressed to celebrate!

The festivities began at the home of E.B.'s friends Francisca and Steve on Kittredge Street in Berkeley. As the paraders arrived, E.B.'s band of pink clad parade pals, Jenny, Elana, Denise and Becky distributed pink pendants, and fitted the poodles with fancy pink and gold hats (in various styles and sizes, designed by E.B.) Pink signs with timely messages like; Peace, love and poodles! Pink yourself up! and Got Poodles! were hoisted. A ditty named "Poodle March" was played by two dozen Kazooing paraders as a train of pink and gold sidewalk floats, pulled by a motor scooter carrying the new author, made it's way through the main drag of downtown Berkeley along Shattuck Street.

The San Francisco Chronicle was there taking pictures of E.B. and the poodles, as well as a video crew filming THE POODLENA PARADE. The parade proceeded to Pegasus Books where Poodles and paraders were treated to biscuits and prizes, pink drinks, and a scrumptious POODLENA cake. A passionate reading by E.B. McHenry of her new picture book, POODLENA, entertained kids, adults and poodles. Afterwards there was some Q and A and a POODLENA book signing. So many books were signed and sold! Everyone had so much fun!
